I woke up craving pancakes 😊 so I whipped up this recipe from my blog - these are Blueberry Protein Pancakes - and instead of butter and syrup, I topped them with some unsweetened coconut flakes - delicious! 
You can see my laptop on the counter behind my breakfast haha - how many of you guys cook from recipes you get straight out of your phones, laptops or tablets? 
Here’s the recipe, and if you prefer to use it on your laptop like me, its on the front page of www.thebettyrocker.com with more detailed instructions.
1/4 cup flaxseed meal
1/4 cup almond meal 
1/4 cup protein powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup egg whites
2 T coconut oil (melted)
2 T almond milk or water (if your batter needs thinning)
1/2 cup blueberries 

1. Mix dry ingredients.
2. Beat in eggs, vanilla, melted oil and almond milk.
3. Add blueberries.
4. Cook on medium heat in an oiled skillet evenly on both sides.
Top and enjoy!

Alright all of my awesome, health-loving fitness friends, I have been learning some new things lately that affect us all and I have to share. As a lot of you know, getting access to good wild-caught fish is becoming increasingly difficult with overfishing and pollution. But in the face of many challenges our world faces is great innovation like the technology of Aquaponics. Aqua-what-ics? Lol - it’s a really cool energy-efficient self-sustaining system that actually combines farming fish and farming plants in a mutually beneficial cycle. We know eating farm raised fish can be iffy - they’re often overcrowded and the cleanliness of the water is suspect as fish waste is constantly being excreted into their tanks. The waste from the fish turns into nitrates and ammonia - not good for the fish, or us as consumers. But that’s where Aquaponics takes over. Those same wastes are actually great for fertilizing plants! So in Aquaponics, plants are set up in hydroponic tanks (roots in water, no soil) and can suck up the water from the fish tank - effectively cleansing and purifying the water - and in turn benefiting the fish! I just did a brief article on my blog that explains it, and a video with 2 young guys who are creating the at-home system you can check out and potentially share with your kids! This stuff is just so awesome and makes me so optimistic for our planet. Just wanted to share.

A little healthy breakfast in Brooklyn -  3 eggs scrambled, sautéed spinach, Ezekial sprouted grain cinnamon raisin toast with Plugra European style unsalted butter and some blackberries. I decided to try something new and use this service called ✳airbnb✳ to find a great place to stay this weekend - it is people renting out their rooms all over the world for a night, has all kinds of amazing deals, great reviews by other people who have stayed so you know what you’re getting (of course use with discretion, but most people are basically decent and cool) - just a great way to travel and save some money! I would have been paying over $300 a night to get a hotel but I got a private bedroom/bath in this great house with a killer kitchen (they even have a Vitamix 😊) for $70 - and I’m in the best part of Brooklyn, right by the water and close to the subway. It’s really cool just wanted to share in case any of you might be interested in either using it like I am or renting out a room to make extra $ on occasion. It is absolutely amazing to be able to use a kitchen while you’re traveling, as every one of us clean eaters knows - just makes everything easy.  www.airbnb.com 
Going to the Polish neighborhood gym now πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ then into Manhattan for the day, picking up a graduation gift for my brother and then a little family time. Hope you are all having a wonderful Saturday!

Happy Friday you awesome people! I had such a mad tummy last night πŸ˜“πŸ˜“ sometimes traveling can be rough no matter how you plan. That’s why I was so STOKED when I found this insanely healthy amazing raw juice by forager  @foragerproject - that has combinations that are incredibly restorative, organic, delicious and all natural. You know how they say “food is medicine”? this sums it up. I had one that had apple cider vinegar, which contains malic acid a natural cleansing and digestive soother. I felt like I was home! Do not get discouraged. Do not feel that you are not making progress. Do not judge yourself harshly or compare yourself to others. Your journey and your goals are accomplished one day at a time. Each day matters. You can’t do it over. Add up all those days and you get results. So make smart choices, keep asking questions, stay focused on what you want and go back to the beginning of this paragraph when in doubt.

Why do I know? Because this is MY formula, these are the things I say to myself daily. My happiness and my health are inextricably intertwined. Creating fitness and strength in the body are just as much about our inner self talk as they are about what we eat and how we train. You can’t digest your food and absorb nutrients as efficiently if you’re always anxious or stressed. You won’t have the stamina to blast through your workout if you’re beating yourself up inside. I know, because I’ve been there. I had to learn.

People ask me how I come up with the motivating things I write and I’ll tell you if you haven’t already guessed - I need to hear them! And I need to share them. I feel stronger because I have you to share the journey with, my friends and FitFamily - all of you awesome guys and girls who care about being healthy and are learning every day how we can be better, stronger, happier and healthier.

You all fucking rock. I appreciate your support and your dedication more than you know. We’re all in this together!!

Just a little Friday #fitspiration for you from me and R2D2 πŸ˜„lol #starwars4life but for real. Don’t weigh your body, weigh your decisions when it comes to how you care for it. Don’t count calories, count NUTRIENTS. 
My body fluctuates a little up and down throughout the year (healthy tapers) but stays consistently tight, muscular and allows me to do all the things I enjoy - at age 36 - and that’s 80% because of how I eat. 
Key word there being EAT! Don’t fall victim to the fallacy that if you don’t eat, you’ll lose weight. When your blood sugar drops too long and for too often, your body thinks it needs to store your fat because it is starving. Literally. And the stress from not eating will make you nutty, crave sugar and often fall victim to uncontrollable eating binges. Stress itself increases cortisol levels, which are directly relate to belly fat storage, especially in women. So don’t stress yourself out on top of all of life’s uncontrollable craziness! You are amazing and beautiful, just Keep it simple: eat real food, eat often and eat with enjoyment.

Quick breakfast before I head to the ✈ 1 egg + a pile of egg whites (only because I only had 1 egg left and a carton of whites, NOT because I don’t eat the yolks!) over gluten-free toast and 1/2 an avocado smashed on the toast 😊 topped with some crushed white pepper - so good, so satisfying!
